Why Do Christians Misquote Bible Verses?  10/18/2011
By Greg Vanden Berge

Answer: I really don't know, but if I was to guess, it has something to do with arrogance, insecurity and of course low self-esteem. If I don't know the answer to a question, I might guess or provide someone with my opinion, but let them know, I'm only guessing and providing them with a few, ideas.

I hate to say it, but Christians will believe practically anything you tell them, about Christianity. If you're an older man with gray hair and sound like you know what you're talking about, you could probably convince them, to do anything.

Christian leaders have been doing it for centuries, often avoiding difficult questions and telling their faithful followers, just to believe. Have a little faith and everything is going to work out, for the best.

This doesn't make a lot of sense to a rational minded individual.

Let's use this as an example," Why do Christians misquote Bible verses?

Because they don't know what they're talking about.

It's not difficult to figure out and most of the information, these individuals share with others, has never been validated.

Any Bible verses that relate to God or even Jesus as God, create problems for rational minded individuals. If the existence of neither one of them has ever been rationally validated, then it wouldn't make a lot of sense, to reference them in any way... especially as the creator of everything.

At lease any reference to God, Jesus or anything else that could be rationally doubted.

A Catholic priest might suggest one thing, where a Seven-Day Adventist, Baptist or Holy Roller, might suggest something else.

Another problem with misquoting Bible verses, comes from contradicting statements and errors in the Bible, itself.

How can we justify, loving our enemies and killing them at the same time?

It's harder for a rich man to go through the eye of the needle, than to get into heaven, yet millions of dollars have been given to Christian organizations, by rich men, with limited resistance.

In conclusion, it's my educated opinion, that most people misquote the Bible, because they don't take the time to do any research on their own.
