Loving Our Enemies
If there's one thing I can say about Christianity, it provides you with
a perception of love and compassion, until you read some of these Bible
verses. I really don't know, whether Christians are supposed to love
their enemies, but there are a few scriptures that instruct them to do
so.
Luke 6:27 tells Christians to love their enemies, but Luke 19:27
provides them with something completely different. What is it, should
everyone love and treat their enemies good or should they persecute and
kill them?
To be honest with you, it all depends on how you choose to interpret
these Bible verses. Christians living a life based on faith, won't find
any problems in the Bible, but an atheist will.
I've been studying the Bible for quite some time and often have
difficulties when I run across verses like these, but like I said, I'm
use to it. Is there confusing statements in the Bible, and you bet there
are and they create problems for everyone, including atheists.
