| Judges 15:7 (American Standard
Version) And Samson said unto them, If ye do after this manner, surely I
will be avenged of you, and after that I will cease.
Leviticus 19:18 (American Standard Version) Thou shalt not take
vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people; but
thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself: I am Jehovah.
Romans 12:19 (American Standard Version) Avenge not
yourselves, beloved, but give place unto the wrath of God: for it is
written, Vengeance belongeth unto me; I will recompense, saith the Lord.
Sampson Taking Revenge
It's obvious that Leviticus 19:18 and Romans 12:19 strongly suggest that
you don't seek vengeance upon anyone.
I don't know if that would apply to a man who just witnessed his
daughter being raped or murdered? Just because a few words are written
in a book, doesn't make it right, but it's strong enough to stop some
people, from doing things that they might regret in the future.
According to the Bible story, Samson and Delilah, a
temple fell on top of Sampson and killed him, after he pushed on the two
pillars, holding the roof of the temple up.
Maybe that was God's way of telling him that he shouldn't have tried to
avenge anyone. Nobody knows for sure, if the story actually took place
or if it was purely fiction.
